Clinical waste or not?
Some of the home delivery companies will supply small blue disposal bags in which a used flanges, pouches and soiled wipes can be put for easy disposal.
As a good alternative to that, disposal bags for babies nappies can be purchased in many supermarkets etc and are pleasantly scented.
A dirty pouch is classed the same way as a dirty baby’s nappy and can be disposed of in the same way.
After emptying the contents of the pouch, place in a disposable bag together with the flange and used wipes this can then be sealed and placed in a normal dustbin.
Some local authorities will provide a weekly, home collection service for
clinical waste (Yellow Bin bag), the appropriate council will be able to advise you on the services they offer, one benefit to the clinical waste collection is that it is weekly.
