Gail Fitzpatrick is the winner of the Best Stoma Nurse Category in the 2012 Golden Owl Awards.
Gail is a Paediatric Stoma Care and Bowel Management Nurse, based at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Birmingham.
Working within the hospital and also in the community she follows her patients after there hospital discharge and takes a great deal of pride in seeing the children grow and come to terms with their stomas through there teens to young adults.
She has been in post for many years and has even nursed two generations of several family’s, Gail still loves her job together with all the challenges it brings.
