Fittleworth Medical Cutting and Customisation services
At a recent open day at the Nottingham ( Linby ) Care Centre, some of the Fittleworth experienced staff who are trained in cutting and customisation of products were on hand to demonstrate their skills. Their skills not only encompass the cutting of pouches and flanges, but also fitting filters, stoma bridges, ties to drainable pouches and any other client request where at all possible. The guiding ethos is, that if there is a process that a client could or does do for themselves, then we can do it for them if requested.
On the day, there were two very experienced cutting team trained in customization including Val Wagland. This year Val will be completing twenty years’ service with Fittleworth and is the Nottingham cutting room supervisor, who has unsurpassed experience with all cutting matters. Val was joined by associate Kim Mcgruer and they form part of an amazing team of cutters at Fittleworth Nottingham. Nottingham is just one of the thirty three Fittleworth Care Centres throughout the United kingdom, all of which offer an excellent customization service to clients.
There are normally two or three staff carrying out customization services on a daily basis at Nottingham, where cutters will cut around 1000 to 1200 pouches, flanges or customizations to clients orders. This equates to around 40,000 to 50,000 customizations per month, totalling 480,000 to 600,000 customizations at the Nottingham Care Centre per year.
